Pentax Proof’s up with New Digital Camera

Pentax Shock and Waterproof Optio 80

Ever been delighted with a brand new gleeming digital camera? Always promising a slim and stylish, and as it’s the latest models, will be out toimpress on spec and it’s small compact design.  But, such design leave themselves itself open to good old fashioned abuse – in the form of kids getting hold of them, drops, spills, slipping out of the hand, or simply not coping with the rigourous conditions of an active holiday maker.

So, some credit has to go to Pentax for coming up with a tougher model. What we liked alot about the new Pentax Optio 80, is that it has an impressive 12Megapixel  image quality, remains looking like a compact digital – no bright yellow casing or thick plastic transparent outer shell – and looks good enough out with you to a party or on the beech.

Yet this, rather smart durable looking camera, is shock proof, dust proof, cold proof and water proofs. – almost all the proofs you would want.

And that is not just cosmetic proof’s from Pentax, the 16ft / 5m depth at which the Pentax Optio 80 can be immersed in, is pretty impressive for the holiday maker – perhaps not for deep sea diving conditions, but hey, how often do we do that!

More simply, the fact that you life style may be tough enough, it probably will be suitable for most people – particularly if you have kids. You can feel more confident to leaving it in their hands.

Take a closer look at the Pentax if you’re in the market for one… if the Proofs don’t swing it for you, perhaps the HD movie capture aspect will?

World Cup Worries? .. with AJ there is ‘2 Ways 2 Win!’

Category: 3D TV, Uncategorized   Published: June 9, 2010

If you, like me, are probably bubbling with anticipation about the WorldCup and a bit of ‘worry’ is starting to creep in, the nails are being ‘groomed’, (so to speak) , then I can honestly say, things are about to get worse. Yes, watching this world cup is going to be a stressful ( in a nice way, of course ) experience.

Unlike other sporting events, the World Cup almost enevitably leaves us with some amazing memorable moments and talking points. Nowadays, unlike in the days of Pele amd Cruyff, every aspect of the beautiful game is capture by a camera from every conceivable angle.

This World Cup, it is going to be worse for us worriers because it’ll be captured in HD ( High Definition) and the experience will be heightened. Clearer, crisper and closer to the action. Close enough to see the sweat dripping under the eye-brow of Frank Lampard, as he takes a penalty.

So, watch and experiencing the Fab Footie, has never been easier and better. Across the spectrum of TVs, screens are getting bigger, and the technology is getting thinner and more environmently friendly too. The definition is getting higher, and the screen frequecies higher – all simply designed to bring us all closer to the real thing. Frankly, that’s going to be tough on the anxiety side of things… but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Can you imagine how clear and crisp the memories after this great occasion will be firmly fixed in my head.

So, like most, you probably are thinking of sitting down to watch TV on the big screen, and perhaps, while you’re here visiting our site,  thinking about one of our deals.

Our prices have always been competitive – if not verging on aggressive- and sometimes, you might need an added incentive to purchase from AJ Electronics – if 26years in the business isnt enough. So ,we thought our ‘2 Ways 2 Win’ Competition, might make a persuasive case.

The concept is simple,… simple complete the competition and answer the simple, ( and I mean dead simple question!), and you gt a chance to win a new Samsung 3D TV, normally worth more than £1200. But if that does not suit you, you could get your money back from any purchase made at AJ Electronics ( to the value of £1200).

You can find just about anything that your heart desires from these sites and you will rarely lose money. These sites monitor progress to ensure that no one is being ripped off at any time.

There should be a series of pictures attached with the camera that you are looking into buying. Make sure to look at each of those pictures carefully. Sellers will also use their own system that will help buyers understand how the camera will work for them if and when they buy it.

The Internet Is Witnessing A Tremendous Growth In The Plasma Vs Lcd Tv Niche

Category: Uncategorized   Published: March 8, 2010

The Internet is growing at a robust pace and has become an inseparable part of our daily life. It is ubiquitous and just because of being a source of abundant information we are relying on this medium. For every small and big thing we come to internet and search for it. There are countless topics on which we share or exchange information. From the huge array of such topics one is the cost effective home appliances.

Home appliances are a broader category under which various items lie such as TV, refrigerator, washing machine, etc. These are the essential commodities that we need to have just to enjoy a peaceful and comforting lifestyle. But when the essential factors mingles with luxury the things get expensive. The same case is with LCD TV and Plasma TV. Both are the advanced versions with extraordinary features of typical television that are the integral part of our daily life.

Needless to inform you that the economies worldwide are in great slump and hence we are looking for the relatively cheaper options which can offer us luxury in minimum possible prices. In the recent time we look back to our financial constraints and planning our buying decisions. Buying a TV is the same experience and at the time of deciding the type we consider a lot many things.

In case you need to replace your current television you will find that buying a LCD or plasma will be a good deal. But let me tell you that these may seem cost effective up front but actually these are not economical due to their hidden costs. Most of the people are finding these options costly and thus a steep fall in their prices is noticed. Due to this reason various companies are stepping back to discontinue their Plasma TV lines.

Contrary to that it is good news for the consumers who are planning to own them as now they can buy the same sets with lesser amount or a flat discount. This drop in prices is enabling the middle class people to enjoy it. But while buying a plasma TV you should consider the basic things that affect the quality such as installation charges, repairing and maintenance services, a good service technician, spare parts, etc.

Considering these issues with plasma TV the LCD TV has taken over and it has broken all the records set by Plasma TV. It is comparatively cheaper with almost negligible hidden cost and ensures a good picture as well as audio quality. The recent statics reveal that internet is witnessing a new trend in the form of increased traffic looking for the cheaper TV option.

TV retailers and manufacturers have agreed to phase out all TVs without digital TV tuners at the end of 2009.

Non digital recorders will be also phased out including analogue DVD recorders and shops will need to have better labelling and consumer information.

The Digital Switchover Supply Chain Group which represents major names like Sony and Panasonic as well as independent retailers have requested that the conversion of all TV digital sets is speeded up to ensure that they are all equipped with digital tuners. So far both Sony and Panasonic have successfully migrated all their TV products to digital.

As much as nine out of ten large TVs sold this year already have digital tuners but only 15% of smaller screens under 26 inches are ‘digitally ready’ and 64% of recorders are without a digital TV recorder.

The Co-Chairman of the Digital Switchover Supply Chain Group said, “We’ve already seen a rapid transformation in the market for larger, flat screen televisions in the shape of LCD TVs, the vast majority of which are now digital. The moves we are announcing today will further benefit consumers by continuing that transformation across the full range of television and recording equipment”

Research from Curry’s suggest a resurgence in the old skool  portable CD player this Christmases. sony-DEJ021S

45,000 players were sold in October alone, which might be something to do with the fact that they’re now much more affordable.

Aside from the cheapness factor, Category Manager at Currys Yvonne Ho reckons some people are still struggling with digital music, whether this be ripping and encoding it or copying it across and managing it on a player.

She says

"There is definitely still a market for portable CD players, particularly at this time of year, as they make great stocking fillers for people of all ages and are primarily bought for their ease of use and by the people yet to digitise their music collections."
We can see that there’s life left in the old CD player as there will always be people who don’t want to get involved with MP3s, don’t have the internet or aren’t confident on a computer."
